I now often pack a Chorizo sausage/salami as a meat source when out as it does not need to be kept refrigerated. Perfect for Kebabs at camp or for a quick easy meal on a day out. Its also good in a stew with whatever you can forage as it contains spices, equally good fried up with eggs and tomatoes for breakfast!

Chorizo Kebabs for 2, you will need:

1 Chorizo sausage.
1 Large pepper.
1 Large onion.
2 Tomatoes.
4 Mushrooms.

:D Very tasty, when the Chorizo is cooked it releases all the spices.

Matt and I discussed what desert for after the stew and we come up with. . . . Apple crumble with a hint of cinnamon with custard and or clotted cream as were in the west country ;)

chorizo is the best stuff to take camping. it doesnt go off and goes with literally anything, can eat hot or cold.
