Strange but good viewing

Watched it all but didn't dig it. I like 'offbeat' stuff but this seemed all about the visual with little emphasis on the plot.

Saying that... I'm currently powering through Designated Survivor which is gash in a different way. Starts off with a decent premise but like most things, disappears up its own arse. Its very, um, very patriotic and I'd say aimed at the US market.

Watched the first three episodes and whilst I'll watch it all it won't be a binge. I enjoyed Designated Survivor's first couple of series but it seemed to run out of steam, still worth watch but again not binge fest.

Last night I ended up starting The Punisher series, lots of gratuitous sex and violence so right up my street :)

I kind of have to binge watch Designated Survivor', I'd fall away from it if I didn't. Half way through season 2 and for me it's already far too silly although I've been expecting it.

The Punisher was too pointlessly graphic with the violence but prudish with the sex scenes (no boobies but happy to show horrific violence). Glad I finished it to be honest and probably won't bother with another season.

There's soooooo much TV getting made, what a time to be a gentleman of leisure. 😎

I love stuff like John Wick/The Equalizer/Taken/Vikings/GOT/Hero they cheer me up. My more gentle side enjoys the likes of The Good Wife/Fight.

Talking of strange but good viewing, has anyone else seen this ?

It tickled me anyway.

I would definitely dispute the gentleman bit:whistle:

If Bam is big enough to admit to being obsessed with boobies then I'm quite sure I don't think any less of him for his honesty...I myself will admit that the sight of a shapely lady will bring a wide smile to my face, nothing wrong with that.

Ah but would you bring a smile to theirs

Compared to older mates who do seem obsessed (I'm slightly worried that I'm destined to turn into a dirty old man after spending time with them) with boobies on TV it was more a case of highlighting the pretty graphic violence compared to prudish sex scenes when its fairly common on TV anyway.

While a fan of boobs, if the mood takes me, I dont' exactly have to go to the darkweb to see some, I just find it a bit weird that they'll show you folk getting beaten to crap but be all coy about folks boobs and bums, as long as its done in the best possible taste eh ?

Let me guess, it's American?....that would explain it.

There is a lot of violence in The Punisher series but the sight of Amber Rose Revah wearing some rather fine stockings and underwear cheered me up for sure, sometimes less really is more :)

There is really too much to watch available these days whether you spend a silly big amount on discs like some of us do or download like some of us do (you can talk about downloading so long as you don't post links to sites). I've really got more films and TV shows than I can watch but...if TEOTWAWKI hits and my solar panels work I'll not be short of something to watch ;)

I'm trying to move from DVD (got stacks) to hard drives for that pesky zombie apocalypse. DVD's are sooooo last decade dontcha know. I've still some stuff that I've got on disc though so I'll have something to do between waves of zombies.

I suppose I'm a bit old school, I have a library...and while I have a lot of films on disk they were bought more for the convenience of not having to wait for our rather cruddy local cinema to get films in...they get watched once and then go into the guest accommodation.

Its legal to make backups of software and DVDs for personal use. It makes sense to rip your discs to your computer/external drives/NAS home network, its tidier if nothing else. Being a bit of a tech geek at heart I love messing about with technology :) I only buy bluray if the film is really high quality and one I know I'll watch more than once.

I can watch something loads of times, I must have seen The Blues Brothers 3 or 4 hundred tmes ????? Plenty others 10's of times, good job I've the memory of a gold fish.

The two films I've watched the most would be The Godfather (one and two) and 2001, Zulu is not far from the list.

Ha, I found the whole Godfather stuff eye wateringly bad. The opening scene going on for half an hour for a wedding just seemed very self indulgent by Ford Coppola. I'm probably in a minority but I just don't rate them at all.

Plenty stuff out there, enough variety to keep us all happy.

You really are in a very small minority lol Godfather 2 is actually regarded as the better of the two, the third is not great. I do have one friend who just will not watch the trilogy or any mob film for that matter, he lives in New Jersey and loathes 'the mob'.

Coppola's attention to detail was phenomenal in the Godfather movies, even now I spot little details in the films I'd missed before, all his films share this depth of production. One of his films bombed, 'The Cotton Club' but its now getting a cult following...fantastic film.

You can't do the Godfather 1 or 2 justice by only seeing them once, give them another go and I'd be surprised if you still don't like the films.

Two films lined up for tonight, Goodfellas and then The Matrix :)
