Always liked the shape of there blades Mike, normally more slender than most Bowie knifes

View attachment 40989Woohoo!

Edit; new arrival, a John Nowill Bowie knife….it weighs a ton.

Didn’t see the picture when I first read your post , different to what I imagined, John nowill Bowie normally well the ones I know of have a slender blade much like the scout Bowie…. Nice handle

I think it’s rosewood but I’m not quite positive, I’m not even sure if it’s original but it is well fitted. I spent yesterday evening cleaning gunk and tree sap off it, it’s obviously been used for splitting logs.
I’m looking forward to some pics of the PXL when you’ve unwrapped it. 👍

As it's elmax you may need a diamond stone to correct any edge issues.

Good show TW 👍🏻 I already have a very small chip in it, blade is perfect, user on this occasion as I’m heavy handed lol… I was going to use my normal stone and strop (when I eventually get round to it ) until I read this 👍🏻

It’s almost unnoticeable but it’s there lol I’m glad it’s the edge is convex, easy to sharpen
