Wood carving Is relaxing and rewarding in fact anything made by yourself is rewarding so get them spoons and bowls carved and take plenty of plasters with you
I'm waiting to see what Lorraine's actions will be when I lay down a dust sheet in the front room to do a bit of carving......Brownie points could rapidly descend.

Here you go Jeff, a spiral cut walking stick. The opinel is the pocket knife every bushcrafter should have
Incidentally Jeff get a roll of electrical tape, using that you can get the spirals the same width apart likewise with diamond cutsView attachment 8275
Opinel pocket knives , on the right a no6 with a carbon steel blade and on the left a stainless steel no8. The number refers to blade length. Technically they are illegal because the blades lock
