Decided to sell our current boat as it was getting a bit cramped with 4 people. So for this season at least it's the plastimo for Kelly and I and the Avon Typhoon for the boys. Took a while to find something other than the usual boring grey for the boys, I like the colours of the Avon, it needs a bit of work but won't take more than a day, got to touch up and reseal seal all the wood with yacht varnish, tread plate the transom, new transom engine mount plate, fishing rod holders, flag pole as josh wants to fly the ensign and glue on some more attachments for kit storage and night running lights. They will be running the Tohatsu 3.5hp for now until I source a decent 2stroke 8hp

The plastimo and Johnson Kelly and I will be running this summer is pretty much new so no work needed, just need some night running lights, I might put some tread plate on the seat and transom for some bling.

When I've had a few beers I might camo paint the plastimo :oopsy::eek:

Pimping it to a point is fine mate but how far you take it depends on what the boats going to be used for mate

If he wants to let his imagination run riot Lee then it can only be a good thing and I totally agree about the motorbikes

And keeps him off the electronic gaming junk as well lol, once his pimped the typhoon I think I will add an inflatable keel to fit under some marine ply (with tread plate on top) and make it a 3 section folding full floor, and take the stated floor out ;) now that will get it moving

you can't beat the restoration of a classic boat Lee and those decals should look great, the fastest I've driven was a 16 foot dory with a Johnson 40 on the back

Will have a better interior than this one joe:
