whats the best knife to use for bushcraft.... stainless or tool steal ?????

A sharp one mate:D:p sorry a couldn’t resist

High carbon steel is good easily sharpened but dose need a little care because it will rust quite quickly if left alone.

Stainless is more durable in way of rust....it will rust eventually but takes longer... bit harder to sharpen tho. But still a good steel

As for what knife....it’s more of a personal choice mate. There are many to choose from. camp knifes are good check out falkeniven. Expensive tho. Mora get a good review. There are a few members who have an Anglo knife witch get good reviews. Myself I use buck and buffalo river knifes. But lol I do have a few more (bit of a knife tart ya see).

cheers will have a look at them

Agree with joe; my carbon steel mora and hultafors knives are a bit tarnished but on the meat of the blade, not the cutting edge.

Would really go for anything more expensive.

any one got a mark hill knife he lives close to me ????

Google, pretty much every bushcraft style shop sells them as do loads of army surplus shops, hennie Hayes etc

Prices vary as they have special offers, moras go for around a tenner, maybe slightly less, I purchased two hultafors knives for four pounds each.

A good start knife would be a mora clipper in stainless or carbon the choice is yours, stainless- no rust, holds sharpness longer but harder to sharpen, carbon- rusts very easy but easy to sharpen.

Good choice, if you go to the coast a lot! If you want to spend a bit more than £10-15 I recommend a higher model Mora or Gerber as they come with non leather sheaths, leather and salt water don't mix well lol ;) SOG also do some nice stainless knives with ballistic nylon sheaths.
