We have a variety of people on this forum with varied experiences. Is there anything that you would like to see discussed on this forum? Any information you would like to see? Skills you would like to learn?
Keith.

I think we need more on say self sufficiency and food growing and less about firearms.
Unfortunately if all things come to pass, we will need those firearms to protect the food we are growing, even if we only load with rock salt! Polluted rock salt of course:rolleyes:
Keith.

I think food growing gets to be overlooking in all the bugging out and other stuff.

Growing food is a good one but only so much ' I grew spuds ' threads I can tolerate.
It would be better if people with allotments or growing food posted photos month by month of what they are growing how and when - that would be engaging. Unfortunately I no longer have an allotment.

The Firearm - Both Myself and Keith have Firearms ( as do others here ) and I know LW is not a fan but i'd like to think it offers a broad consensus of differing views on the subject and may encourage people to look into it if they then can ask all those questions that they wish to without feeling stupid or judged . As I first did when looking into it.

I think some discussion and tutorials on how to preserve food , game , produce would be good. Salting , smoking , pickling etc -not sexy I know but important.

that's a great idea about posting photos month by month , that way people can compare notes and ideas
and maybe trying non conventional methods of growing food, fast , indoors, maximizing crop for area size,
there are lots of side subject to this

Yes - Growing food as you say in unconventional ways would be interesting - ie Vertical Gardening which then shows how much one can produce from a small area.

Aquaponics and Hydroponics also interest me but there maybe better forums for that as its quite indepth subject and beyond the scope of most of us in terms of actually doing it.

A few tutorials on Coastal gathering would be good - the coast is so abundant that it seems foolish to not focus upon it.
Fortunately i'll be doing a specific Coastal Survival course soon so will write up my experience and tutorials.

I think debate and focus on How people will react by studying actual examples of Crisis from History rather than banal conjecture would be more useful and we can learn something.

Decent discussion on Ditch medicine - First Aid for when things go badly wrong would be good.

Most people I find have something to teach ( even if they don't feel it themselves ) but doing decent Tutorials and uploading photos can be a pain and if it doesn't feel appreciated or valued people can lose the interest in providing it.

So if someone does upload a quality tutorial that obviously taken some time and effort in its construction please remember to show your appreciation.

i'm not anti gun far from it, I just think there is more to prepping and survival than just that one topic.

I'd agree there is PLENTY of scope to 'Prepping' more than Just one topic.

I wouldn't say ALOT of posts here have been 'Gun-centric' in terms of giving an unfair amount of coverage to them. I think a bit of coverage is useful and showing people in the UK how to obtain them ( legally ) and what they can do is useful.

I think there are many subjects that would be good to be covered - One that hasn't been covered enough is ( in my mind at least ) - Communications - be that Radio Hams or signalling but I know you LW will take a stance that you don't see the benefit in it as ' I don't want to be found ' mentality.

Power Generation would also be another good area of study - From Solar to Vawt's to Water Power

I think more posts/articles with Photos would be more engaging - be that a ' Look at my kit ' article or a something else. Photos engage and interest people.

A review of kit we have used and think is Good or Bad would be useful - learn from someone elses discovery.

Communications and Power generation would be useful for some members, don't let my personal preference stop you.

Am in agreement with the above statements. More on growing your own food. Also preparation of game. and to add some home recipes also

Rainwater collection and storage would be of some interest to me.
l can't get enough info about gardening - maybe l'm on the wrong forum?
On the subject of guns, a friend in Scotland tells me you need a licence for airguns there nowadays.

are you on about something like this

l was thinking bigger - to flush toilets and fill baths. We currently have borehole water but this depends on the electricity grid for the pump and UV light. We have a septic tank so no worries about the sewage system not working. We collect rainwater for garden purposes in similar butts already.

Growing food? Youtube has tens of thousands of videos on growing pretty much anything you can imagine in pretty much any situation you can imagine so just get off your ass and search.

Getting a firearms ticket? Very straightforward in the UK, follow the rules and you will legally own weapons in no time. I loved my rifles and shotguns but there are far better forums than this one to look at weapons.

Communications? Yes there are lots of forums but many tend to be a tad 'techie' so I think this is an avenue this forum needs to expand, not just comms but technology in general.

'Deal of the day' could be a topic here, best offers at your local UK supermarket...a practical and useful thread for everyday use.
