Fixable freebie?

Also needs constant pressure and cutting fluid. You can sometimes get away doing a one off hole if the steel has work hardened by using a TCT masonry bit run fast. The drill will be no use after though.:(

Another reason to mark out and drill first but the springs are a very simple shape that can be produced with a bench grinder and files from 2.5mm flat.
It occurs to me that it isn’t even really necessary to produce the spring in stainless unless you’re wanting an absolutely faithful restoration.
