The problem with lime bark cordage is that the bark has to be retted for about 6 weeks after removal. This is done by throwing it in a river and just leaving it to....ermm.....rot! It stinks when it comes out. Nettles and willow cordage can be made without retting. That's why I only mentioned them in my post.I quite fancy learning about natural fibres/cordage. We have nettles that will be at their optimum for cordage (poor man’s linen) by late August, early September. We have hybrid lime trees that can also provide bark for cordage (up to 6” diameter limbs from pruning, not felling)
