Planting 2022!

Well my corn is almost in pollination (if that’s the right term for this lol) but !! No bloody cobs to pollinate 🤷🏼‍♂️ Iv done something wrong lolView attachment 115140View attachment 115141
Good morning Mark I can tell you exactly what is wrong. You have a single corn plant and it is a male. Corn needs to be several plants planted in a block for instance 12 plants planted in a block 3 plants to the row. Cor pollinates by the breeze dispersing the pollen between the rows. Sorry mate but a single plant is never going to work

Sorry joe I only took a picture of one of them mate , there’s 6 plants in total all about 40cm away from each other planet in a block… I’ll take a better picture in a minute mate

I always plant mine about 6/8 inches apart Mark. it can make harvesting a bit awkward but its worth it, You want the pollen concentrated, it also means that in any high winds the plants can support each other

I’ve got shitty carrots 🤔🫣 planted them to close together 👎

All you need to do Mark is scrub them and eat them, at that age you wont need to peel them. In future plant them with a fast maturing seed like radish mixed with the carrot seed which makes it easier to thin them out. Another method is to mix the seeds well into some wallpaper paste then sow them using a piping bag, you can also use the same method using a thin water/flour mix which might be the best way to go because most modern wallpaper pastes wont break down in the soil. Another major benefit of using this method is that for their first few days in the ground the seeds will remain moist

You don't plant carrots you sow the seeds  The idea is to thin them out as they start to grow leaving the most vigorous plants in to make bigger carrots. My wife sows Chantenay carrots in tubs, they don't grow much bigger than the ones you have there and they are nice washed and steamed whole.
I've seen them sold as plugs but personally I've never had any success with them, done the same with beet which were equally a waste of time

Cucumbers can go two ways, beautiful plants like yours or a complete wipe out

I think mine was almost a wipe out joe, the leaves was going yellow with now flowers…. So I started to feed it with the tomatoe food and it seems to have did the trick, not out the wood yet tho as it can quickly turn as you will probably know joe ,, so 🤞

yellow can be a sign of over watering and yes tomato feed once a week is the way to go. You cant beat picking your own
