Given up the fags!

Been vaping since last October, so eight months without a cigarette. I actually got my old pushbike out of the back of the barn the other day, wiped it down, pumped up the tyres, blasted WD40 all over the complicated bits and went for a spin. :)

Eight months ago, I'd have been coughing me guts up after 100 yards. I tootled around about five miles of country lanes, saw a hare, a couple of bunnies (note to self: strap HW97 to back of bike next time) and even a deer in the distance. Hadn't ridden the thing for about five years, and hardly got out of breath.

Sore ârse though -- if I ever find the twât who invented the bicycle saddle, I'll string him up! :D

Anyroadup, as has been said, Willy, get yourself a decent-quality vape set-up and you'll never look back. I have one of these, which is a really smooth smoke (Kanger T3).

I also have one of these, because I'm just cool. :p

I vape and have done for a couple of years, never crave cigs and wouldn't thank you for one. If you get a decent vape, you quite enjoy tinkering with it to get the set up just right for you. Feels a bit more of a hobbie than just smoking for the sake of it. Still smoke the herb every now and again purely medicinal

You both want one of these! :p

Thanks a million Don. Between you and CH, I've just managed to spill my coffee all down me, ya pair of kants.:p

Gave up the bacca about 8 or 9 years ago now, although I do have the odd smoke now and again. Actually the last time was when Bev was diagnosed and going through treatment for breast cancer, but don't tell her ok, she'll kill me.

I like the look of that pipe CH and I think it would suit me rather well. Ummmm may have to invest in one of them to relieve my stress.

So what do I need to go with it then guys?

Well done tds, keep up the good work.

E liquid, look up e cigarette shops in your area and they will sort out everything you need in a starter kit.
But if you've already kicked it?

Well, he does still sneak the occasional fag, innit, GDFB? ;)

You can of course buy e-liquids that contain zero nicotine, and sit and puff away to your heart's content, rather like a rotund version of Gandalf. Or you can buy likkids with 3mg, 6mg, 9mg or even 18mg (cough, splutter) of nicotine in 'em.

If you get something like the pipe, then it comes with everything you need to get started. You get a hard case containing the pipe itself, two rechargeable batteries, a battery charger, and a combined wick/element. This jobbie sits in the clear tank and the wick draws up the e-liquid. They are held in place by a small spiral element within the unit, which heats up when you press gently on the chrome top of the bowl. That vaporises the e-liquid and you can then draw it in.

The batteries last me several days, cos I only smoke the pipe in the evenings. They're NiMH, so won't need replacing for ages. You would need to order some replacement wick/elements at the same time as you order the pipe (cheaper online). They last for several days or weeks, depending on how often you use the pipe and which juice you use. They simply screw in to the stem of the pipe inside the tank.

As for e-liquid (e-juice), there's a huge choice. Everything from Virginia tobacco to strawberry daiquiri! I vape a rum & vanilla juice that is delicious!

The tip here would be to go to a local e-cig shop and tell them you're thinking about it, and could you try some flavours? Then have a toot of what you fancy, and see what you think. It will also give you an idea of what a toot feels like compared to a ciggie. Then make a note of what you like, walk out of the shop and have a look at prices online, which will be much cheaper than the retail store, unless they've got a special deal going.

If you want something a bit handier for carrying in a shirt pocket, say, then look at something like a Kanger tank (the T3 I use is pictured above). This screws on top of an Ego battery (an industry standard). You would need two batteries, a charger, a tank, spare elements for the tank, and e-juice. Again, your local e-cig place might have kits on offer, or look online.

Juice over here is 2/3 the price of a packet of cigs for a 10ml bottle, which lasts for several days. Elements are cheap online, although some people even make or refurbish their own.

You've hit the nail on the head there Dad.

I've been wandering what do I think of folk puffing on Toy Fags.
Do it fecking private. In a shed.
I don't really care but seeing folk doing it makes me feel uncomfortable sought of Goofy.
Maybe I should get one for the car which is without a doubt the worst time for smoking. Chain blah jobby.

I have to go now, off to the Beach again. If it's raining I might as well. At least I can feel sorry for the holiday makers at The Beach all wet and cold carrying pick nicks and crying babes, wind breaks and blanky's in the wind and rain on the Beach!! Imagine.

Precisely! Only a fecking idiot would start with one of those! When are you getting yours Granddad?:D

I'm checking them out now Don. LMFAO. There are times when I could go back to smoking full time Don and not bat an eyelid in doing so. I've often considered a pipe, but Bev won't have the smell in the house. There was a pipe tobacco that smelled like cream soda and I love that smell. Oh well back to spending my cash on shooting stuff.:p

Not so fast, sunny Jim... there are e-juices in just about every flavour you can imagine, and some you'd rather not... including cream soda. ;)
