15 yard range... compare results!!

That's non to shabby ya big old multi generational fudder.
Run it out to 25/30 yards and you'll be grand.
Now stop worrying about getin good enough for pest control and get out and get it done, or forget it and be a happy lil target puncher, I know plenty of them.
You don't need all that sh1te fluffing ya heed up, it's a hard enough sport to start with.
And if you do decide you want to shoot live quarry, just do it, but don't think about it until then.
I can tell you now because I've seen it and done it, unless there's a lead fairy sitting in the skirt of your pellet you will fluff the first shot, maybe even your first half a dozen, just make sure you'relaying in that damp field with a buddy that can perform a kill shot if necessary.

Reading this back it seems a bit harsh, but sometimes you need a good mate to kick you in the nuts and shout "COME ON" in your face to initiate the autoreset procedure.

Apologise if I've missed owt pertinent to owt I've blathered on about in this post.

All said in good friendshipynesly.:D

Kin ell!!!!! Where did that come from? All my practicing has been leading to one thing and that's getting me some rabbit for the pot, oh and I wanna try pigeon too. Talking of which, I'm off to a local business on Friday to see if they will allow me to do something about their rabbit problem.;) Don't ask, don't get.

I have no immediate plans to use the 95 for any kind of vermin control (unless that cooking fat that keeps crapping in my garden tries his luck when I'm plinking), but I must admit my accuracy at close range with the 95 seems to have moved up a gear with the swap to the little Hawke.;) Should have done it long ago ya winker.

Now the S510 that's a different matter. That was bought with rabbiting in mind and fingers crossed that's gonna happen real soon now.:D:D:cool: A change of pellets and scope have slightly delayed my first outing, but weather permitting on Sunday the new scope will be zeroed and the new pellets will group well at distance and then a hunting I will go.:D

Oh and BTW Manny "laying in a damp field" it ain't gonna happen.:p If I lay down in a field I'll never get back up gain and the rabbits, and all the other vermin, will have food for months.

Now where have I heard that before...? :p

Try waterproof overtrousers, and use a sitting or kneeling stance. If you tie the cuffs around your ankles, that will also contain any potentially embarrassing accidental discharges as you line up, all a-quiver, on your first live quarry... ;)

What I was actually trying to point out is that your good enough as you are, fecked it up a tadge :( sorry.
All without the aid of alcohol...
As for the damp grass, getin a bit that way myself lately...

Manny, you say the nicest things.:p Well sometimes and usually when you've been drinking. The pellets from Germany required an adjustment of zero, just as they did for my buddy and now I've got a brand new scope mounted onto the S510 this morning. I'm hoping I can get it zeroed in for 15 yards in the morning and who knows, I might even post a pic or two.:p

You are a cynical bazza CH, would you have me go out into the field without testing the pellets from the new supplier? I owe it to my quarry to make sure the rifle and pellets are up to the job. As for me, I think I'm ready for the challenge, but no waterproofs for laying in damp fields and there WON'T be any accidental discharges either.:p Gonna be sitting behind a hide and shooting off my sticks, coz kneeling is out for me too. 40+ years of too much good food and beer have buggered my knees.:p

Cynical? Moi? ;)

Sounds like you've got it all worked out. When and where is your first session planned for?

Oi!!! I don't do accidental discharges ya bazza.

Got the Falcon 4-14x44FFP IR zeroed today and it didn't take too long either, just one mag. The scope is solidly made 30mm tube, the optics are crystal clear, with flip up covers and a sunshade. The turrets are a joy to use, big chunky jobbies, just right for sausage fingers here.:p The elevation and windage turrets can be reset to zero, once zero is confirmed. The reticle (B20) being first focal plane, is quite small at magnifications below 8x, as I'd read prior to purchase. However, with the mag on 4x I was able to easily set the crosshairs of the scope on the crosshairs on my targets.;) I suspect that will spend most of it's time set at 8x or 10x. So is GDFB happy with his choice of scope, well so far I is a very happy bunny.:D

However, there are a couple of negatives.:eek: Firstly, at the end of my plinking session I got a huge shock when I went to return the S510 to it's hard case. The bloody case wouldn't close.:( The windage turret and the side focus "turret" are so fecking enormous the lid wouldn't go anywhere near closed.:( I'll get round that by using the canvas gun slip that the TX200 calls home when not being used. Feck that's a tight fit too, but it just about zipped up, but the zip was straining at the seams to contain the rifle.

Here's a few pics.

Decided to fit the Hawke Eclipse to the TX200, seeing as how the TX's scope was on the HW95. Just got the scope settled and the eye relief sorted and I realised the objective was blocking the breech of the TX.:( Feck it, plan B. So the HW95, which had been wearing the smaller Hawke, was fitted with the Hawke Eclipse and the smaller Hawke is back on the TX200 where it started off. So now I have 3 rifles to zero on Sunday. Oh well sh1t happens.

I ain't fecking well covered it in camo yet. Trouble is when it is camo'd I'm frightened if I put in on the grass I'll lose it.

Paint it pink, then you should be able to find it... :p

But seriously, if you're going to be shooting from a hide, you probably only need a bit of camo tape over the silencer and barrel, just to stop it glinting in the light as you take aim.

Sooo many comments could have been posted regarding the above, but I know deep down you're a sensitive soul that is misunderstood...

Feckling pishing fannying... no keep quiet you.
