Hi all,

On the 8th of October, me and seven others will be doing a 14,000ft skydive to fund a snazzy extension (coffee area, education centre etc) for the local church.

If anyone here has attempted this before (and survived) any advice would be great. Otherwise, come to Beccles Airfield in Suffolk to watch the nice people at UK Parachuting scrape up my splattered remains:D

Also, if you feel like making a donation to this appeal, here is the link:

Yes Keith

Wear two pairs of knickers. Don't Risk Loosening your Bowel, the night afore.
Very messy otherwise, you can't feel when you dangle.
Beccles is not very far from me and Roland. Apart from looking up, where is a good point to watch the splat and maybe say wahoo if you don't kark yourself.

Was offered a wing walk on an biplane sitting on the top. Two wing jobby, small chair no parachute!!

Terminal speed falling is 75mph that's 176 feet per second.
No matter how high Newton Say's the Max speed is 75 without additional inertia.
Like a big push out when you release your bowel.
So drive along any road in a mini bus with your mates at 75 near enough and jump, be the same impact near enough, unless you hit a tree or somat coming from tother direction ouch!
Do you know how far you fall, before you reach max velocity. Depends on surface area and air resistance/pressure, mass and weight etc but about 15 foot that's all. Upstairs window blanket short rope!!!

Some basic advice, Keith.

1. Wear brown trousers. In the unlikely event that you survive, you'll want to be able to pretend that you enjoyed it.

2. Wear clean underwear. It makes a much better impression on the first responders when they're squeegeeing your remains off the tarmac.

You're welcome. :alert:

Why on earth would anyone want to jump out of a perfikly good aeroplane

You must be nuts.

Some call me mad, others call me brave (I prefer the latter; makes me feel all manly) but seeing terra firma get rapidly closer at 120mph (terminal velocity) must be quite interesting!

Besides, it's a tandem jump so all I have to think about is enjoying the view & landing in one piece. Thankfully my darling Lorna sexy sugartits will be there with my mum & several members of the congregation to watch the whole debacle take place:eek:. Even the Vicar will be there to deliver the last rites should anything go wrong:D.

Even a video can be done of the jump should anyone wish to see Suffolk from 14,000ft & watch a perfectly normal runway turn bright red in a split second:D

Hi, Keith.

Wishing you well mate and hope you raise the funds for the new "Coffee Area"

Both my Son and Daughter have made the tandom jumps and loved every minute of it:thumbsup:

If you have wondered Keith exactly what it's like to free fall for three mins, knowing with absolute certainty your shoot has not opened!!

Certain death approaches. Plenty of time to regret the idea moist likely.

This is that video Fred, so you don't have to wonder.

This sought of thing seems to happen a lot.
More often than Shark attacks apparently!?

So where is fly boy Keith.
Need an update, it's getting close now.
Is out on or off. Need to know if I need to charge my camera or not. Follow up to the videos above

One of the guys on one of my vaping forums did a "tandem" skydive for charity recently and despite the weather being sunny and bright for the weekend, the conditions weren't safe to complete the skydive and it was a case of waiting for the right conditions. He did the skydive the following weekend, so maybe that's what Keith is having to do as well.

Strewth!

I hope Keith did get to jump. Be a shame if just a couple of videos about folk's shoot's not opening put the wind up. Not that it matters. Even if he backed out, who cares. Watched film tother day about Brats waiting to take orrff. Bruce gets this premno of crash n burn, a vision of the plain going BOOM! So Bruce tries to talk his buddies out of flying, certain they'll die. Like Keith's parachute woolly jump. Anyway Bruce and his bird disembark, others don't. Then when it does take orrff BOOM! I had a premno too about Keith's jump!!

Well I survived and as previously stated by the high and noble One Shot, I bloody loved it! I even got a certificate & some vouchers so next year, I'm doing it again;). This time Lorna will be doing it too, which should be interesting seeing as she suffers from Vertigo:eek:. If a 14,000ft drop doesn't cure her fear of heights, buggered if I know what will!
