With the decision made to sell my Falcon scope, I'm a scope down, well I was until Worel alerted me to a sale on Optics Warehouse. The price was good, very good, but I couldn't justify buying another scope until I'd sold the Falcon. "You can have it as an early birthday present" pipes up wifey. Well thank you kindly my luv. So Nikko Stirling 4-16x44 Target Master arrived this morning, but what winker forgot to order scope mounts. Well the last one came with mounts, but they were a separate item. DOH! I've treated the new scope to my first set of SportsMatch single piece mounts.

Many thanks to Willy Tell for the heads up. Much appreciated mate. šŸ‘

I already have one which I bought with the 98, and love it. However, as it's shorter than my Hawkes, I swapped the Target Master to the TX to aide pellet loading left handed. The 22 TX has a lower mag Hawke on it, which is shorter, so not so much of an issue.

The Target Master compares very favourably with any of my Hawke's for build quality, robustness and clarity of glass. Windage and elevation turrets are a joy to use too. I found the half mil dot reticle a little busy to begin with, but soon realised that the extra half mil dots were a great aide in adjusting for holdover. All in all, a cracking scope for the money, in my opinion, despite no IR.

I have one ns ,a 3x9 that sits on my xs12 ,it's a mountmaster and works great for light springers. Next month I intend to spring for a Hawke with an etched glass reticle and IR for the .22 Diana 34.

My only mountmaster wouldn't hold zero (which I'm convinced was down to my very lively hw95) and was replaced by Nikko Stirling for free. I never did get to test the replacement (which was an upgrade from the model I returned) as I sold it on with the 95. I blame Worzel for getting me into the Target Masters. šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

Sounds familiar, I've destroyed a few NS scopes in me time... Not to mention Hawkes...  In fact, I just replaced the Vantage 3-9X40 that was sitting on the HW85 with a Leapers jobby, cos the Hawke has finally given up the ghost and lost zero.

I still have an NS AirKing Gold Crown 3-9X42 on the 97K, which works very well now that the rifle's been detuned.

Still like my Hawke sport optics 3x9 . I plan to get Vantage for the .22 model 34. Debating whether it will be 3x9 or 4x12.
Wait and see what the shot cycle's like. I just had to remove a Vantage 3-9X40 from my HW85, which has finally managed to kill the scope (would no longer hold zero). Replaced it with a new Leapers.

Have you returned the scope to Hawke then CH?
Currently under discussion. They told me to contact the retailer, who cancelled my replacement/refund request via Amazon, since it fell outside their returns date (ordered March 2018). Hawke is now contracting the retailer... allegedly... we'll see what happens.

Wahoo Birthday Buddy
Target Master, yes 50 yards please.
I've had four of em now.
Four empty boxes sit on top of my gun box so I must have.
Stroke of luck good old Google Free 24 hour delivery too.
I paid Ā£100 for a second hand jobby then bought new and found the second hand scope was different. Better different, turrets turned better the ret dot is bigger not so tiny so better. Then I sold a gun and Bruce wanted my Target Master. Paid me what I paid Uttings Ā£149 I could have given him the older second jobby he never would have known but I kept it and let him have the new scope. The newer model is not what Ian and I have just bought. Same serial number nothing to discriminate. Old model rubber caps as shown in Ian's picture plastic on stretchy string new model.
Have you compared scopes Ian. I also believe this older model focuses down further. Bloody glad Opticswarhorse supplied the better model.

Glad you were pleased Ian. Happy Blah.

Scrub what I said earlier.
After a very careful comparison I was wrong.
This new TM like Ian's does have the slightly smaller ret.
So they are the latest model. No worries.
No mistake this time Bruce's.
Very hot here Roland the grass is cut. Can't get targets anything like as good as last year.
Be nice to get the 50 yard spring jobby going before it's too late.
This time separate classes for 12 ft and FAC Keith.
I only have 12 feet anyway. Not sure about combining .22 and .177
trouble is Roland doesn't have a .177 springer so best combine the two.
A little more lax in the rules though about scoring, another idea that popped when Bruce wins he can't participate in the next monthly.
Bruce judges only instead.
Reminder, all you need to do is take a photo of your target holes, an idea of scale is good. I'll have a pop in a minute to start off.
Gentleman only need apply unless you are a bird which would be lovely.
Must pop happy plinking.

Terrence you can join in too any gun or calibre or distance you like.
Whatever distance you and Rab Strap can manage then we'll try and match the same distance.

What's it been five minutes maybe!
Pizza base been plinking it earlier badly, with the crap TX.
Long walk down 50 yards approx.
Five shots more is too hard.
No messing about just get on with it.
The size is a small kiss group I suppose the gaggle is under 14mm.
Standard 97 .177 TM scope 4.53 forgotten the make same as most folk use.

My picture quality is damned good isn't it Keith!
Sunny here you see!
You've seen mine now let's see yours!!
No talk of Royal Babies please..

Mr.Tell, Yes I rather like the pictures you posted. :) If you no longer want the tx ,kindly post it off to me. :D What kind of knife is that in the last pic? Working on getting my RWS 34 tuned today, wish I had 50 yards to plink at,it would give you all some comic relief.

Love to see to see some pictures Terrence.
Winning is not the point of knife.
It's an old Sailers knife and spike for cleats and sails.
Belonged to my Father In Law must be forty plus years.
I have his army knife as well. Strangely his own son's had no interest in these little treasures. Left them out for the bin man.
I got a few knives Ron Lake n sitch.
Please show us a target Terrence

There you go!
Couple of them looks like a Bowie blade Terrence.

You wouldn't like the TX very hard to shoot a close target very twitchy.
I keep buying them and thinking I can't shoot this.
That TX is a MK11 .22 better gun really.
