Hi all, here's my full custom HW 80 air rifle that i modified myself. It feature's a special precision transfer port insert and a finely honed cylinder and modified piston crown along with my high tensile Aluminium cocking linkage and lightened action and custom gunstock work. It weigh's 7.5 lbs unscoped and is a dream to own and shoot

Very blingy.
Must be very satisfying to customise and shoot you're own guns.
What do you use it for?

Many thank's, i target shoot and hunt rat's with it. I got rid of the blueing as it alway's get's marked. I bought this rifle for £15 from a gunshop that closed down around 15 year's ago and it had a bent barrel and was a bit rusty so i did my bit to make it into what it is today. A full custom HW 80.

It's a very pretty thing without doubt.

Rebuilding and customising articles to be better than new is IMO, a deeply satisfying process .... Lovely looking thing. Many congratulations on the fruits of your labours and may it bring you many, many years of enjoyment :)

Well thank you very much, i have been working on air rifle's for a good few year's now and have developed some interesting technique's. I can get rid of the recoil almost completely by fine tuning.

Here is a picture of the precision transfer port insert for reduced recoil and improved accuracy.

Here's the day I am having, looked at that picture and thought... "What's he done there then? My breech doesn't look like that.."

Then I realised you have a HW80, it's a break barrel and whilst I have a SMK TH78D Co2 Bolt Action ... So they would pretty much look different :evileye: :DNice work. I am still wondering if there is a break barrel I can easily 'cock', I have a series of illnesses known as 'The event' on here ;) ... I feel a trip to a major RFD may be coming on!

Yes thank's i fully customized the breach and end block, and it is a dream to shoot. Not for everyone though. I also like the HW 80 in it's original format possibly the finest break barrel spring gun ever made and even at around £400 still worth every penny, i want to get a HW 80 Carbine in 177 later on when fund's allow.

How about trying out the HW95 (with silencer as standard), or the HW98. I have never cocked the HW80, so have no point of comparison with the 95 & 98. I had a tuned 95 and currently have a tuned 98 and cocking is definitely easier with the tuned versions. Like you, I am recovering from injury and can cock my 98, both my TX200HC's, but not my Pro Sport. Shame you are based in Wales, or I'd have arranged for you to shoot my 98.

If I lived closer then I would gladly accept the other, not only for the gun but it would be nice to meet you in person.

The main problem I have is being well enough to go anywhere because in mid Wales everything is a long way ... Before we moved to our place now, where we lived last was 23 miles return to get a pint of milk; Much like Scotland you can get pretty isolated here with little effort.

I've said somewhere else that I have found a shop/range/gunsmith place about 45 minutes away from us, so I am hoping to get there one day ... Get my new tests out of the way next week, then we'll see if it is even worth me buying anything else  (Not sure why i am looking up ..... I'll be going down if anywhere)

Thank you for the thought :)
