I have been using the original Jack Pyke 120L Decoy Bag (in English Oak camo) since it was first launched onto the market and have found it excellent for my needs, but now they have produced a new version – the "Maxi Decoy Bag".
The Maxi Decoy Bag shares most of the features of the 120L Decoy Bag, both models boasting an approximately 120L capacity main compartment with a circular base, strongly made from a tough, waterproof coated 600D cordura nylon with a top draw cord running through brass eyelets.
The draw cord has a cord lock and there is an internal flap to stop anything falling out of the bag, even if it is too full to close fully. Both bags have a pair of comfortably padded adjustable shoulder straps with top tensioners and a good big grab handle.
Over and above these features, the Maxi has twin 7L side pockets with twin-pullered inverted "U" shaped zips, elastic cartridge holders for 20 cartridges around the top of the bag and a reinforced hide pole carrying pocket at the bottom front, and Velcro type strap to secure the poles at middle of the cartridge loops.
The new features make the Maxi Decoy Bag even more versatile and practical than the original, the pockets adding easy-to-access storage for smaller items and the reinforced pocket and strap making pole carrying a breeze.
The original 120L Decoy Bag costs around £34.95, the Maxi Decoy Bag costs around £47.95 and both are available in Jack Pykes English Oak or Woodland camouflage, or in plain green. Both have proved extremely useful bits of kit in the field.
