Formed in 1985 and just a few minutes from Bolton town centre, Rivington Riflemen have today become the premier air rifle and air pistol club in the North of England. With well over one hundred members, whose ages range from five to more than eighty years old, we strive to make available a safe and enjoyable shooting environment for all! We are a very informal group of airgun enthusiasts from all walks of life, the one thing we have in common is the safe enjoyment of air guns.

With a multi lane 40 yard indoor rifle range, a 10 metre target range and several local outdoor FT and HFT ranges, Rivington Riflemen provide perfect facilities whatever your chosen discipline.

Rivington Riflemen is strictly a target only club. Our outdoor ranges and woodland are full of wildlife and any member or visitor must not shoot or aim at any living creature on any range or property.

40 Yard Indoor Range
The 40 yard multi lane indoor range is housed within our headquarters and club house. Fully insured and marshalled with a lane designed for the less mobile, this (as well as the whole site) is disabled friendly. Rested and freestyle lanes are available all with dozens of knock down, spinner and paper targets and all lanes are available in 15 minute intervals. Open from 6pm until 9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 10am to 3pm on Sundays, the indoor range is perfect for relaxed plinking or zeroing your scope for the weekend shoot.

10m Target Range
Housed in the bowels of our clubhouse is the multi lane 10 metre soundproofed target range. It boasts electronic target retrieval and free target cards. There is also a club pistol and 10m rifle with free pellets available for the braver of us to have a 'miss' with and veteran paper punchers are always on hand with tips and techniques to improve this rewarding discipline. Postal competitions and quiet concentration are the order of the day here but enjoyment is mandatory! Opening times as per the indoor range.

The Clubhouse
Nestled between the indoor ranges are a range waiting room with safe gun racks and the lounge. With ample seating and a roaring pot bellied stove the lounge is a gun free oasis were you can relax, chin wag or sit and read the vast amount of gun related literature. There is tea, coffee and a microwave available in the kitchen area and a 300bar air bottle for the none pumpers amongst us. We sell pellets and other shooting consumables on site and share the benefits of buying in bulk. We also have a permanent chronograph available for testing muzzle velocities and keeping your gun of choice legal. Opening times as per the indoor range.

Outdoor Ranges
You will have to go a long way to find FT and HFT ranges of this calibre. With the added complexity of outdoor shooting our ranges provide the ultimate in improving your personal marksmanship. Each weekend the courses are set out individually to maintain the challenge and are the bedrock of the modern air gun club. Whether its joining in the banter of a fun course or clubbing together and having a mini competition the choice will always remain yours and fun is the name of the game. We also hold inter club competitions with other North West clubs and enjoy home and away fixtures several times a year. Many of our members also enrol in national competitions some of which are hosted on our ranges. For safety's sake we 'vet' all newcomers at the Indoor range before inviting them to our Outdoor range.
