I have tried various "travel showers" over the years and the Sea to Summit "Pocket Shower" has to be the most practical, versatile, and compact, and probably the lightest, I have come across.
Ideal for camp use, the Pocket Shower comes in a zipped pouch with a belt/attachment loop on the back and with the advice printed on the front that you shower 100m from water sources to avoid detergent pollution.
The pouch measures approx 130mm x 900mm x 300mm and has a drain eyelet in the base. The pocket shower itself measures some 530mm x 100mm diameter and is made from a black, tough, heat-resistant, waterproof nylon fabric and has a stiffened roll-top top closure that features a tough clip buckle, two strong Delrin D rings and 6 metres of cord to help suspend the shower.
Inside the top of the bag there are printed "use and storage" instructions and a 10-litre "fill line" that should provide a 7-minute shower. In the base there is a compact shower head that has a smooth action allowing the water flow to be adjusted from off to full flow with a simple twist.
An "O" ring seal prevents leakage, but be sure not to over-tighten the closure. As the pocket shower is made from black fabric, if you hang the full shower in bright strong sunshine for a good while, the water should be warmed by solar energy, but you may also want to use warmed water to fill the shower in the first place!
The shower head is designed to give a good spray pattern and the whole pocket shower is strongly made and should last for many showers. As well as acting as a shower, the pocket shower could also be used as a waterproof dry bag for storing your wash gear, clothing, sleeping bag etc, saving space and weight in your pack.
