Sigg, famous for their top-quality aluminium water bottles, have recently added stackable aluminium boxes to their range.
Available in Maxi (228mm x 145mmx 77mm) and Mini (170mm x 117mm x 60mm) sizes weighing around 290gm and 170gm respectively, these very versatile boxes can be used for general storage of the small bits and pieces you want to carry safely in your daysack or, as they have a food-safe epoxy coating and a leak-resistant rubber seal, for securely carrying your lunch.
The boxes have rounded corners, a fluted lid and indents in the lower, shorter base edges to avoid distortion, and strong, flat, closure clips for a low, easy-to-pack, profile. These boxes seem more robust than similar offerings on the market and are easy to rinse clean after use (though they are not dishwasher safe, nor suitable as cooking containers).
Probably the most versatile and durable aluminium boxes of their type, the Sigg aluminium boxes come in a range of metallic colours – silver, copper, green, blue or purple, and cost around £26.50 for the maxi or £23.00 for the mini model.
In years to come I am sure my, by then somewhat battered and marked Sigg aluminium box (mini) will be serving its purpose as efficiently as when new – if my experience of Sigg bottles isa nything to go by!
