@Bopdude and I managed a couple of night out at our usual spot . It’s been a bit controversial recently ( as it as nationally) with people cutting down trees for fires and leaving all their rubbish for others to clear up ....

We arrived Friday night to find our usual parking spot now a pay and display ! Got into site and had a quick tidy round and tarps up . It remained busy till about 10pm but as we were on the loud mouth soup till midnight we were not too bothered 😀.

Saturday saw me rough as a bears nudger and Al having a well deserved lie in 😴 so Saturday was chilled hanging around camp and a siesta , pedestrian traffic remained busy all day but no bother .

An early night with not much boozing saw us up leisurely again this morning for a steady pack up and a tidy up around the site #leavenotrace ( in fact we cleared other’s rubbish as well as our s) before mooch back to the cars and away home .

I used a new meths set up and trialled some dehydrated meals so maybe a review to follow on those but all in all a couple of well needed nights out with the usual good company 😁

Here‘s a few pictures in no particular order ......

Great write up and phots as per, thanks for sharing. For two nights it can be a bit 'awkward', what to do with the day before deciding its an acceptable time to get dinner on and more 'refreshment'. Its different if you have stuff planned like getting from A to B but for me there needs to be 'something' to occupy you through the day although I guess if you're hanging out your hoop that will fill your time.

It was a needed break and enjoyed to extremes on my part, great company as usual and putting up with me, it was very very busy as said but still a good 2 nighter, I only took 1 picture I think, I'll check and if anything is worth posting I'll do it, the dehydrated meals, although not new to us it was probably the first time we haven't taken, steak, burgers or bacon, sorely missed I might add but we need to adapt to a new longer walk so good practice, the meals were nice enough to boot.

You made it sound like you were camping in some city park? And then came the photos......what a beautiful spot!!!

Its a fantastic location , normally very quiet but a combination of Covid relaxations and staycations has meant its a lot busier that usual ……. to be fair we did go in the height of the summer holidays when usually we go during the slower parts of the year . We are trying to stay local and reduce our wild camping footprint due to the pressures in other areas and contention around ( pretend ) wild campers abusing locations …….

Excellent post and pictures guys.... Glad you had a good time.
Thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing 👍🏻 Cracking location as always guys👍🏻 Enjoyed reading and seeing the pictures 👍🏻 Spot on 😁

Thanks for that write up and beautiful pics... As somebody else noted, the location was quite stunning (at least to my antipodean eyes!) I really like looking at you people's camp set up. You often have those low slung bedrolls ( we call them swags) and tarps... Very low profile. I note that you two were actually camping in hammocks for this trip. Is that common? I used a hammock once, but in very different circumstances.
Doesn't anybody use dome tents any more? Or are they 'old school'?

And those meal packs. They look kinda like the military ration packs we consumed back in the day but clearly better. Back then every meal came with two minute noodles. Its easy to get sick of two minute noodles.🤮 Myself, id probably stick with the bacon snags and steaks. My boy would prefer that too!

Thanks for posting.. Enjoyed looking at this over a coffee!

Alan
