A couple of interesting old fish traps.

A very bush crafty pair of split cane fish traps, probably circa 1900-1920 (dated by the context of what they came with and where they came from so may not be exact)

The small one is very strong, perfect for crayfish. I think the larger one is for eels but I'm a little unsure. I bought them in with some other rattan work panniers and baskets as a job lot.
I posted the pictures in case it could inspire some of you to have a try at making one. Let me know how you get on Joe.
