Well determined not to be beaten, I did another walk of 17 miles yesterday. Back to Bancffosfelen, where 4 years ago I lived on a farm as a volunteer. During my free time there I built a small roundhouse. Was so pleased to see it still standing and that someone had been living in it.

Must have been a great experience having built it yourself.......how long did the build take you?
Although a romantic picture surrounds it.....was it tough going....were you in there in the Summer or Winter........interesting stuff

Took about 2 maybe 3 months of evenings and weekends the roof timbers and uprights were already in situ but needed fixing and someone had moved some stone ready for wall building. As I was living on the farm at the time I was lucky enough to have use of a tractor and back box to move materials and access to clay and lots of dung to make the "cement". I think if I had to do it all from scratch and by hand I would estimate 3 times as long if not longer to build. May go back after I eventually have my op and stay for a few days.

Way to go mate......I was sat here wondering about materials.....sourcing the stone etc. :)
I hope you do manage to get back in there for a stay after the op........look forward to some more pictures if you do
