Mel and I went out on Saturday afternoon for our weekend 'lunch in the woods over a fire' outing.
It's getting to the time of year when we have blue skies and an almost acceptable temperature for my better half of 12C.
We walked in towards a common spot I've used through the winter.
We gathered some wood and I started the fire
Unfortunately, at that point Mel heard a 'boom box' starting up not far from us and the noise of some rowdy lads coming closer. She got really nervous and wanted to leave so the fire was extinguished again and we headed home for lunch on the hob.
I'm thinking that, during the summer time, that spot might be best to avoid in preference of others which are less accessible.
We're going out on a scout later today for some other spots to use.
