After a week family camping at Loch Ken then 3 nights at Banff Links campsite my daughter and I finished with a wildcamp.
We went to Sunnyside beach between Cullen and Findlater Castle. Having camped there before I knew that I would need to carry firewood, so it was a heavy load to get to the beach.
I was hoping we would be the only ones camping and as we walked down, 2 groups passed us going to the car park and we had it to ourselves.
Pitched my vango on the bit of sand with the most grass well up from high tide line.
Watched the sunset then got the TV on.
The beach was alive with small sand fleas that were like mini shrimps.
After my daughter went to bed I stayed up and had a few beers and a dram getting a nice clear sky for night viewing.
In the morning I made croissants with cheese, coffee and hot chocolate.
I noticed my daughter had written in the sand
"I love wild camping and my Granny"
Went for a quick swim and a wee explore of the rocks before packing up and leaving no trace.
