Got hold of these recently at a boot market. Best £ 7.00 I have spent in ages. :)

OK I had to work hard to bring them up to standard.
Before me doing them up.

Hugo, you bad man, axe porn indeed before the watershed! Some of them are lovely, i have never seen the small one with the pin affair running down the back of the haft ? Enlightenment please!

My favourite is the felling axe, pictured alone on the bench, boy that has seen some action, that classic handle whooo! Lovely!

Does it give you the weight stamp on the head?

Nice!

Ivan...

A couple of replies do not seem to be showing up? Is it me being dim?

Ivan...

Thanks guys, Ivan, the metal wedge axe I think a carpenters axe, the protective metal wedge is for when your using the pole as a hammer. The feeling axe is a Wettlings and is well ballenced, I have not used s yet but Kep has a cunning plan lined up.

Someone got you on 'ignore' if they've got any sense!?

My Dear Bushwhacker, i was not going to reply to your flippant comment, as you sir are a cad and a bounder! Also i do not wish to detract/derail a perfectly sexy thread!

SO! I suggest, you get your own house in order and sort out your tracking issues, until such time i will continue to be your friend!

Ivan...

PS. Thankyou for the reply.

Yours.

Dimbo.

I'm on the case. Off to play with a rodent this weekend so may be off line until I return. But I shall be back with some tracky goodness.

Hugo well done on the renovations mucka.
how do you peeps put an edge to your axes? As a pre battery tool joiner i was taught to use a "bastard" file rather than a stone and thats how i still do mine.

wonderif the profanaty filter will allow that

I use the file for getting a rough edge, I then move to a Lansky Axe puck to get a better edge on my axes and hatchets. On splitting maul's an axe file or "Bastard" file tends to be all you need, but felling and limbing axes are a different ball game.

Cloth backed sandpaper mate, then wet and dry and then strop.
