An out of control bush fire just 6 kilometers away today! I started clearing brush the day before yesterday. I started thinking about all those tall saplings & decided & would try constructing a small palisade & shelter using these saplings instead of using the larger trees to construct a log cabin.
In my younger days I thought nothing of picking up & carrying large posts on my shoulder, but I can't do that anymore. Hence the thought of using the saplings. Could be an interesting & fun project.
Very hot here now, & we are barely into summer yet. The fire service warns of more bush fires due to climate change. I have been alternating between clearing brush & tree cutting & getting the planting done. I also had to make some changes & repairs to our irrigation system. Some DRF thought the water wipe was a tree root & cut through it with a shovel!!!
