Just back from the June wildcamp that my daughter and I are doing at least one every month this year.
Had an idea for June to go up Ben Rinnes on the longest day as it landed on a Friday.
Because it was a special one, my wife joined us as well. Set of from the car park at 20.15 and saw around 10 mountain bikers heading up.
Reached the summit around 21.30 and was surprised to see the mountain bikers cracking open tins of lager. There were also some trail motorcycle riders who were also drinking and watching the sunset.
Pitched the tents then watched the sunset.
The cyclists headed down and hopefully got home safe .
After our daughter went to bed, we stayed up for a couple of drams then hit the sack.
I got up around 3 for a pee and saw a few people at the summit waiting for the sunrise.
Got up around 7 to a beautiful morning and got going with the breakfast, chocolate porridge (for daughter) and croissants with ham and cheese.
Packed up leaving no trace then headed home tired and happy.
