How fast do Chinnocks get.
Ones just gone over the roof nose down ass up at about 80ft above the roof, least the "doorman" waved at the grandson.
Absolutely mesmerised he was at this big noisey quac quac, apparently everything that flies is a quac quac now, not just the dooks.
Anyway he was shifting.

302 ks an hour MT, you can do the conversion to mpg

Chinnock, good work horse, but hated traveling in them when crew changing use to :poo: myself, blades not supposed to rotate that close together :(
Believe me mate they're a whole lot better than a Wessex. When we pulled out after a battle in the Wadi Duhbsan we staggered into the air like a drunken pig and to add to the sheer terror the Yemenis started banging 7.62's through the bottom of the fuselage

Didn`t mind the Wessex, hated the Westland 12 seater flying shed , rather the Chinnock.
Prefer the Dolphin, Bell or the good old Sikorsky 76 or 92 đź‘Ť

Chinooks actually have a very good safety record given that they’re one of the few airframes capable of having an air to air collision with themselves.

Grest memories of standing in the jet wash at the rear ramp counting my soldiers on whilst also drying my clothes!

They’re also fast enough that most attack helicopters used as escorts aren’t as quick!
