10-15 blackberries mashed in cup, add small handful of flour and pinch of baking soda. Add couple of teaspoon of water and mix until you have thick stuff dough, Add teaspoon of sugar.

Heat clean pan with a good knob of melted butter. Put batter in pan and heat over low fire until inside isnt sticky, flip occasionally.

Lidl powdered tea or citric acid contianing drink powder [screech] can be added for a lighter cake.

Depending on what stance we are in, we can be British or Irish... Lol :) what would that taste like?
but everyone eats tatty banns.
ah hows about this one;
aran siochain
[it is irish soda bread recipe made with orange juice not buttermilk. Buttermilk is not easy to come by, and orange juice is sold at the grottiest rural shop]
500gms plain flour
2 teaspoons of bicarb
1 teaspoons of salt
1 small cartons of orange juice
a small quanty of water

Mix the dry ingreadants then the orange juice, add water if the dough is too dry. Cooking can be done a few ways.

bread= Put clean washed stones on the base of standard square billy, oil or grease the sides and put well kneaded dough in the middle then place on ember fire with other half of the set as lid. flip tin every few minutes. It can take a while to cook this way, and is difficult to cook evenly.

damper= heat flat stone. flaten dough into naan bread shape and place on stone. Without burning fingers prop stone on sticks facing fire. There is video rays mears did of this somewhere on youtube. His ended up half burnt half cooked.

Twizzlers= the regular boy scout method. take small amount twist around stick. toast like marshmellow.

Are you from the island (as a whole)? Suppose :) my granny just gave me an ild frying pan
so I'll be bringing it and it's a deep dish one, so hopefully it'll be good for making bread...

?????? I am ethnic celt, that thinks this.????

I was born in dublin and left to live in london when I was 5 years old, not that I think it matters in the grand scheme of things.

Dont use normal non stick pans on open fires, the teflon can bubble off and get in your food, especially if you heat it for long time dry like you do with bread. The first recipe is a variation on welsh cakes, thet cook really quickly.

Heres any other one
Fruit crumble;
Fruit blackberries and what ever else, stew with a bit of sugar if needed.
Set pan a side.
Crush a good handful of digestives biscuits and fry and in little butter.
Serve on top of stewed fruit. packet of Instant custard optional.
