@Bopdude and I managed to get away this weekend for some hang time at Brockwell Wood near Newcastle .We arrived Friday after an hour or so before dark , we got set up and got settled in with a few beers and a steak 👍

The weather forecast wasn’t great but I think we managed to avoid the worst of it .

Saturday saw us up early for breakfast , rugby 🏉 and beers . A bit little some foraging for firewood and a siesta before we knocked up a lovely chicken casserole and a few more beers . The weather overnight was a little wet and windy to say the least , gave me a chance to wear my new ridgeline monsoon smock 👍@matt .

Sunday morning , a quick Brew and pack away in the rain ready for home . Another great camp in the bag 👍

Correct , it is a wild camp site , small charge , some access with vehicles ( weather dependent or 4x4) , no toilets , water if you filter from the burn , firewood ( dead fall) , 7 miles from Newcastle and generally you don’t see another soul all weekend ! It’s a great location to have in the arsenal when time is short or we don’t have a planned wild camp in mind . 😁👍

……………..and I might, just MIGHT....get one night in the lavvu next week, stealth camping...... down a local field in a little woody growth, and hope the dog walkers don't see me...…….?
If I'm brave...…...;)

...no fires and cook on the army Trangia.....sad git!

Sometimes you have to go with what you've got.

I recce'd a local wood but realised it was too 'dog friendly' for my purposes. Ironically, a field where I walk my dogs would be great..... If it wasn't a five minute walk from my house. No kudos in camping that close although after a wild camp was in doubt I did seriously consider it a couple years back.

Doesn't really, but it what there is :) just to get under canvas. There or the back garden again!!
A 10 min., slightly muddy walk with a rucksack......no lightweight gear:rofl:
