Hi,
I am heading to Dartmoor for 2 days this weekend.
Forecast is not too good - rain withba chance of snow on Saturday.
Any ideas, tips, advises how and what to prepare for a cold 2 days and a night in a tent?

A good place to start might be to let know what you have in your kit atm.
Also where you plan on going and the conditions of the site, is it a fire friendly site as most of Dartmoor you are not allowed a fire...

Fire friendly.
Atm:
Footprint
Space blanket
Zephyros 1tent
Inflatable mat 3cm
Meryno wool blanket
Sleeing bag with 0°extreme
Foldable saw and Mora knife.
Other stuff like Highlander stove etc.

I'm a snowboard instructor so base layers etc sorted ;)

Just in case durable tarp 3x5.

Any tips how to improve comfort in a dump a freezing conditions?

Map, compass Gps might be an idea mate?

So...
We're on our way.
Apparently it's going to rain all day with chance of snow in the morning.
Any tips how to start a decent fire having dump punk wood around and pine tree forest and keep it on over night?

Watch what ya doing in a pine forest with fire mate and trying to keeping a fire in overnight with pine you'll have your work cut out

Fire will be outside a forest border across a stream just to be on a safe side.
I believe pine is the only source of wood there...
Will try to learn feathering and sourcing fatwood :D
Keep your fingers crossed!

Good luck on the fat wood, what area did you go for ?

I hope that my spot wil be free Bob :)

Don't know how to edit my messages :/

Sooo,
Success! Managed to survive a night in Dartmoor in winter.
Temperature was definitely below 0 and very dump. Luckily we have managed to start a proper fire, did some feathering and tested my foldable saw and Mora knife.
We even had some snow!
