Well.....after catching up on the annual house maintenance at last.....it was nice to find an hour to have a first serious go at some carving.
Changed my mind and had a go at a basic Owl to start off with.
Carved from 1x1 inch Bass Wood using a Flex Cut knife.
Need to do a bit more de fuzzing before painting and dipping in Boiled Linseed oil and leave to dry.

Wow! Looks just like you Bill.😃

Going to have a few more attempts at this one........carving small items like this has highlighted the need for a very sharp knife.....practice of knife control......and a more relaxed and slow carve would be better.
They do say practice makes perfect......I hope so because it is really enjoyable.
Need to tidy up this little project and then decide if it's worth painting or not.
Either way.....as its a first......... it will stay away from the firewood pile

So many projects to do........looking forward to getting stuck in to more.
