A coastal bivvy camp on the North Yorkshire Coast , was a little windy so we picked a spot that was a bit more sheltered …. Went lightweight using a Rab poncho and Sierra designs backcountry bivvy …. Had a a great nights sleep , fantastic views and a clear starry sky …..

Done plenty of camping in my youth but never did any bivvy nights, hats off to you.
Great spot. Always been a lover of the sea views.
Just incase I ever get the urge what are the laws on wild camping, I guess that's what you're doing, yes?

WILD CAMPING UK LEGALITIES​

The only places you can legally wild camp in the UK is in Dartmoor and Scotland:

Seek landowners permission if possible
Don’t camp if the land is obviously private (unless you ask for permission first)
Be quiet and respectful
Pitch late and leave early and never stay more than 1 night
Follow Leave no trace
Don’t light fires

In Scotland wild camping is restricted to 3 nights.

My location was close to the Cleveland Way footpath , an area where overnight camps are accepted provided people adhere to the above principles .
I had arrived late , pitched up just before dark and was away at first light leaving no mess and carrying out my rubbish .
I know Wild camping has issues and not everyone complies and that means people have less tolerance for it . I try to be respectful and and would of course move on without issue if asked to do so .
