cooking stove ?

No idea, I'll check out the primus gas next time I'm out, see if it's the same as you've pictured, not that I use it, I normally go with Coleman or MSR

Primus bottles are Ok!

The Problem we have with OPTIMUS !

(I just took a picture of the Primus bottle, because I have it here. Of course I don't store an Optimus bottle, knowing well, that they do not work with my stove and are filled with summer gas.)

Ah ok, my brain isn't working atm, it was probably the mention of Optimus and the picture of Primus, need sleep :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy:

It was a mix of Propane/Butane/Isobutane and had a normal ventile, until they decided to use the good name to sell us rubbish!

It was good, but unfortunately it isn't any longer!

Here happened the same like with products from Jack Wolfskin. Good equipment for many years, today nothing than rubbish!
No Expedition Equipment any more!

When hiking or I dont have time for a proper fire its a Trangia. Otherwise I use a metal grill I made which I keep hidden in the wood.

For hot drinks etc I use a pop can stove with bioethanol, I find it much easier, cleaner and far less smelly than meths. For cooking it's either petrol in my Coleman multi fuel or gas on one of the tiny screw on stoves. Always a camp fire when I get the opportunity as I love making bannock and flatbread.

Thanks Joe
I find the best way to improve a campfire is always have a kettle on it.
Clive
You come to a summer meet Clive and you'll find the kettle goes on about 5:30 6 o'clock and stays that way until we go to bed
