Here another little project, a customised Opinel No.07.

All by means of natural resources: Carved with another Opinel No.07 and some Moras, finished off with linseed oil and beeswax to get a smooth finish with nice shadows. A simple patina has been applied with mustard.

being an opinel lover myself I do like that

That looks great! I've got a vintage no.8 but I'd be afraid I'd mess it up customizing it! A guy on bushcraftusa added a saw blade to a no11 I think it was, not as nice as yours but it came out good.

No, that is the famous

"Opinel de Charles Martel"

they are looking for in the Louvre since a couple of years!

Haha well, its with my better half now. Sorry cultural human heritage. :lol:

@all Thanks for the kind words. :)

@Bigfoots
I do fully agree, it takes time to develop a hand for the craft. I am certainly anything but perfect, that said after years of practise.
Luckily I get a bit of commission work recently, with increasing requests. If this might be of interest to you (or others), please let me know. I still have a badge of about 40 Opinels at home ready to be customized.
