Czech army mess tins

Not got the non-stick ones, used to use the British ones and still have a set (natch). You can never have too many mess tin/cook sets though.... šŸ˜Ž

I bought a set of Czech Army Mess tins....very similar to above, from Go Army or MM, I can't remember, for under a fiver....šŸ‘

Sounds about right, I'm always late to the party. :crying:

I'll see what I get for my 8 quid, they can join the 'spare' pile if they're gash.

They'll not be gash at that price! That's the pile mine are on as I've yet to use them. Just like you? I bought them because they couldn't be ignored!!!
I think they are very useable?

The look like the 'civvy' set that I use now (have done for a few years) or more likely the set I use is based on these. Mine has a 'dimple' in the lid/frying pan which is pain for frying and this looks flat so hopefully an improvement for doing eggs for brekky. If I can transfer the stuff I keep in the current posts straight across then that will work for me.

It looks for me as if the handle is made from aluminium.

Once we bought a French rectangular mess kit which looked pretty similar to the german mess kit, so we expected it would be fine.

As long as we hanged it over the fire, it worked very well.
But when we put it into the fire like you would do it with a stainless steel Canteen cup, surprise, surprise!
The handle melted!!!

The next one the guy bought was a german mess kit with steel handles!

;0)

I recommend to be a bit careful.
