Thanks BrambleI fed ours soaked chick crumb even straight out of the egg, they will 'dabble' so be prepared for a very messy nursery!
ThanksJust edited to add that the chick crumb is unmedicated.
No mate we had lambDuck for dinner joe
My lot are saxony x2 khaki cambell x2 and cherry valley x2We tried soaking the chick crumbs for our Indian runner ducks but they didn't really seem to care. Brambling is right though, they are messy little buggers.
They're also pretty stupid, unfortunately all of ours were killed by a fox along with three Marans. ☹
I can now hear them chirping inside the eggsUpdate, got home from camping to find that the eggs in the incubator are rolling like crazy and cracks are appearing on 3 eggs so 24/48 hours time I should have ducklings
3 are chipping ie cracked shells Bill but all 6 are movingExciting stuff Joe........look forward to seeing some pictures soon
How many of the 6 are hatching?
you'll get the pics as soon as they hatch David, your not supposed to open the incubator once they start pipping because you have to maintain the humidityJesus Joe!
Get the film developed already an show us the pics!
Yep and some old towelling over the top of that, the first two have chipped away some shell and are through the membrane so they'll be out soonI hope you have plenty of newspaper to put down Joe, they make a helluva mess once they're all projectile pooping
