Edinburgh , Loch Lomond and the Trossachs

Should have been on holiday in Jamaica but Covid meant a staycation instead …..
A great few days in Edinburgh and then onto Loch Lomond ( more to come tomorrow)have seen some fantastic history , architecture and scenery . Visited the castle ( £13-great value ) , Scottish National Museum (free) and the Scottish Portrait Museum ( free) and did a city bus tour …..absolutely loads to do …. Oh and some great food and drink

Terrific photos Rob, it's a very interesting city to be sure, and some lovely buildings to see. I wish that I had been able to see more of it when I was there a long time ago

Some of the history was really interesting , sounds like Edinburgh has played a pivotal role in British history … some great military history too ….

Did you manage to fit in a visit to the old "Royal Yaught Britannia"?

Looks like a great trip, the castle is formidable, the food looks great and the loch, when we gonna string a hammock there lol

A truly beautiful city that I also have a few happy memories of....frankly I'd rather take a break in Scotland than Jamaica.
