Hi Mark.
Have you given mittens a thought mate.......pair of wool thinsulate and mittens on top?
I use leather drivers gloves and waterproofed them a bit with nikwax

They come in different sizes Mark. I have smallish hands so I bought size 8.
They do give me a good grip on my knife and axe. Cheap as chips too.
Cheers to yous all for all the input and links. Much appreciated (what would a do without yous)
I have thermal neoprene gloves for handling steel during sub zero weather or heavy oiled leather mits for hedging, for bee keeping I wear disposable rubber gloves to disguise my scent. Each has a specific purpose, I'm not sure that there is any such thing as an all rounder.
In which case I would choose leather but that is only my own personal preference.
