I recently got a Hultafors Trekking axe and was really disappointing in the sheath they supplied with it so I had to dig out the leather working tools and make my own.
First off this is the so called sheath they supplied, As you can see totally unfit for the purpose and it had even cut through it during transit to me.
So I dug out some 3.5mm veg tan leather and started to make my own.
Made a template
Cut it out and put my stamp on it.
Fitted a welt and a strap with a heavy duty snap popper.
Finally my brown dye arrived today so got it dyed and stitched together.
I also made a handle cover to match.
So all dyed and fitted.
All in all well pleased its a solid fit and will protect myself and my gear from the sharp blade unlike the one that arrived with it.
