Ice Fishing Catch and Cook

Hi Ct.

You can't get fresher than that......pond to pan
Lovely scenery.......what were you using for bait to catch them?
What kind of depth do you normally fish to ?

The right time of day you can catch them on yarn, bare hooks with the odd jig. but I seem to have best luck with shrimp or squid, they will even eat themselves if you have nothing left for bait. Using three hooks spaced out on a line you can judge somewhat where they are. I normally fish smelt in the shallows, No more than a double fathom, tho sometimes as little as 3 feet of water, usually around areas where the brooks feed into the lake.
