Hi folks
I agree with everything said above BUT, just remember that anybody born in 1900 in the Western World who survived the first half of the 20th century went on to enjoy the fruits and security wrested through the sacrifice and hardship of those who didn't. In UK the welfare state, booming economic conditions, high employment rising wages and access to housing. Post war, the peoples of Europe North America and Australia have enjoyed growth prosperity, well-being never previously experienced in human history and quite possibly never to be experienced again!
While I agree us boomers through to millenials may be a bunch of softies by comparison, I really fear for the hardships awaiting younger generations today.
A devastated biosphere, global pandemic, broken economies with incalculable public debt, emerging populism and political extremism, massive economic inequities, high competition for few jobs, poor job security, almost no chance of owning a home and a lower life expectancy than their parents...
This is our generations legacy.
Netflix is meagre compensation for those who follow us. If we aren't as tough as our parents were, I've got a feeling the current young generation and future generations are gonna need to toughen up fast.....somebody born in 2000 is going to face some dreadful challenges in their lifetime... Possibly as bad as those faced by those born in 1900.
