Large Celtic belt

Practice, practice, practice lol
My dad asked me to make him a belt for his buckle to go with his tartan troosers

belt blank is cut

He didn’t mention any pattern and his original belt had no pattern but I thought I would surprise him with one along the blank of the belt, something to complement the buckle, same’ish design…… Celtic knots.


bloody hard design to sketch out , however I like a challenge lol

Thought I would practice on a scrap piece before I ventured onto the belt

Hi Mark

You could maybe use Antiquing paste..... or leather paint and a detailing brush......quality brushes will make life easier
Some low tac masking tape will help you.
Just saying mate.....sometimes on formal dress belts.....less is more

Might go with the antiquing paste

Thinning down Acrylic paint to achieve a unique colour is another option for highlighting a tooling pattern Mark.

Try out on scraps until you get the perfect consistency you are looking for....let it dry well
