Last of this seasons spuds.

Dug up the last of the spuds and cleared the weeds off the patch for winter. Also took the runner beans down and put the canes away. Only parsnips and lettuce left in the ground.

May I ask what variety, also why on earth did my parsnips not take this year!!

@Medwayman You're not alone parsni[p wise, I didn't get a single one this year. Runner Beans, tomatoes and greens are now prolific after a late start

Sorry for the late reply. The potatoes are Kestrel second early. As for parsnips, they can be a bit slow to germinate if the conditions are not right. When I was up in Yorkshire I used to start parsnips in the greenhouse in a length of gutter. 3 inches apart. Then you could slide the small plants onto the ground outside when they get started.
