So in the absence of @Bopdude ( partying in Turkey 😁) and my step daughter having a sleepover I decided to do a quick solo after work .....
Kit was packed , wild country Coshee micro tent , some quick scran , brew kit , 2 litre water and a hip flask of whiskey 😳. All in I was 9.7 kilos.

A quick drive to my favourite spot and we were off . There was someone at my first choice location

It turned out to Haze Outdoors a cause celeb from YouTube and instagram 🤪
Check him out .....

So onward up the track to a location I’ve been wanting to try for a while . From the old alum mine there is a plateau that overlooks the sea , after a bit of an uphill slog I was in position overlooking the sea .

The grass on the pitch was thick and pretty high needing some trampling down , note to self to check for ticks when I get home .

Once I had flattened a space it was time to get the Coshee ( great little solo tent ) up and camp squared away

A couple of hours of quiet contemplation, a pod cast , some whisky and a dehydrated meal saw me away to bed for a great nights sleep .
It was a light night with an almost full moon

A quick brew and I was packed away and home for 8 o’clock leaving no trace other than the trampled grass

Back at the car I spotted a bloke with a drone , it was Hazy who I mentioned earlier so I went to say hello, as I say check him out , I might even have a cameo in his next YouTube video 🤪

All in all a great solo camp with my kit working well , I did bring food back so some changes to be made there but all in all I was happy with my pack weight and kit selection ( I might do a separate post later if it stays dry !)

Cheers for looking 👍

Hi Rob :)

Great photos of the trip mate.

Shame your oppo is sunning himself in Turkey........he will be green when he sees this

Nice trip......thanks for sharing.

Excellent pics & write-up Rob

Was that an Alpkit Cloudbase mat you were using ?

I have my eye on one of those as I may attempt the odd solo overnighter on the occasions when Matt can't get out. :(

Tent looks ideal for the task too although I will most likely use my Dutch Army hooped-bivi.

I have been subbed to Hazey for years & I have my first ever can of Northern Monk (Neopolitan Ice Cream) looking at me right now ! :)

Yes mate Alpkit cloud base mat with Alpkit cloud cover quilt , worked really well .

He’s a character that’s for sure , he’s a local Whitby lad so knows this area well , was good to meet him 👍

As always, it's the next best thing to getting out, reading about someone else. Great pics and write up, will keep an eye out for the Haze video 👍
