Mapping and Navigation resources
I thought I'd post some online mapping websites which some folk might not be aware of as well as the more obvious options.
Feel free to add on any others which might be useful.
I've included some screenshots of the same area from each site for comparison as some have much more detail than others.
Google Maps
OS Maps: online mapping and walking, running and cycling routes
Great for plotting a route and the app can be used to record a track and I believe you can share your location with 'buddies' and see their position though I haven't tried this. Unfortunately Viewranger no longer works on browsers which block javascript (like Chrome) so I need to use MS Edge.
MAGIC
This one includes the OS map grid-lines but has a Magic overlay once you zoom in

OpenStreetMap is a map of the world, created by people like you and free to use under an open license.
