Some months ago I attempted to change the Co2 cylinder in my .22 Crossman Ratcatcher. Failed !! I tried almost very tactic I could think of but the cylinder had welded itself to the valve, so I took it to a Gun Shop that specialises in Air Guns. A long hunt by the shop for replacement parts until finally the gun was operational again.
Went to collect it today on the bike...armoured jacket and jeans, Helmet, gloves...Oh! so toasty warm..especially when caught stationary in traffic on the M4 Motorway. Road repairs and two HGV's side by side ahead so no chance to bimble along between the lanes.

146 round trip and I think I've lost half a stone in the mobile Sauna....:lol:
Never mind..all in a good cause.

Re-assembled and scope fitted, just needs zeroing now. :thumbsup:

That's a close equivalent of the 2240/2250? if so I wish that you'd said...I had parts left over from a 2240 that was modded with Terry Robb parts. :rolleyes:
...I'm a huge fan of those guns, noisy for the power they achieve but a lot of fun all the same.

It was one of those cases that began with a stuck Co2 cylinder, but stripping revealed seals and the operating valve itself was banjaxed. Power wise I wouldn't hunt Elephants with it but it is amazingly accurate.
Back in Sussex I knew an old Polish man who bred Ornamental Zebra Finches in an old disused Dairy shed. Spilled bird seed attracted Rats and I spent many evenings perched on a stack of old motor tyres in a corner potting Ratty with that gun. :D
 
I feel your pain; I once managed to move house on the hottest day of the year and needed to move my bike. I saw off the removals in a pair of shorts and flip flops, had an ice cold shower and then donned my leathers (which were clearly super thick kangaroo hide for added warmth) in about a minute so I was rolling with a breeze in about two minutes to stop myself being poached in my own sweat!

:D I think it managed 30 C here today. On the M4 there were barrier repairs in progress. About half a mile safety coned approach leaving two lanes with HGV's side by side and then one lane, so filtering was not a safe option. My kit is textile with armour so the sun from above and engine heat from below practically slow cooked me. :lol:
 
I had spares for the whole guts of the thing from exhaust valve through to transfer port, including the springs, original trigger etc...all the seals...everything. they all went in a ziplock bag along with the gun when I sold it at Malvern.
 
Don't have a motor bike and never will. But so pleased to read you gents are dressing appropriately for motorcycling despite the heat. When I drive to town I'm terrified of all the people riding in shorts t shirts and thongs (footwear!). Backpackers are the worst. You've never seen so many skinned knees elbows hands and faces! Our emergency rooms are full of them.

Well done for wearing appropriate road gear even in hot conditions....!

Better to drip sweat than blood.
