Treated myself to a new knife. EKA The Swede 10 or Big Swede is how it is advertised. As with other sellers,the one I bought it from took the Swede 10 to mean a 10mm blade, indeed it was advertised as such. Not so, the blade is 9mm.
The blade is 12c27 Swedish Sandvik steel with a back lock and Bubinga wood scales with incised, not raised checkering. Solidly built and razor sharp out of the box. Probably capable of any job a similar size fixed blade could do in the woods.
