Had a call from one of the farmers that I do a bit of pest control for late in the afternoon yesterday.
He has just had a large family house built on the outskirts of a small village fairly close by.
He has 4 fields that surround the house about 25 Acres in all....... the fields have a healthy population of rabbits in residence apparently.
From what he has said on the phone I think he has ploughed and planted a couple of them and needs the rabbits thinning out :)
Really nice down to earth chap........... so makes it a pleasure to help him out.
Going to organise a meeting and recce with him for a look around.....not visited the site before.
Winter shooting will be down to the weather and conditions........but Spring and Summer could be busy :D

Jobs a good'un

Arranged a meeting at 09.00hrs this morning.

First visit to the site.....what a stunning house and grounds.......still ongoing works but lovely.
Had a walk around and the hotspots were pointed out to me.
There are a lot of signs.....the little buggers are busy.
Must have spotted at least 5 while walking the margins......and 4 deer galloping across one of the fields.
At the bottom towards the Estuary/river there is a train track and footpath.....a lot of rabbits down there and coming onto the land.
Safe to shoot as I can keep the archs of fire along the hedge......shooting parallel.
There is an old barn....reported to have a family of foxes in residence.
Also a couple of active. Badger sets.

A few pictures as promised.

Looks good Bill, you're a lucky man.

Thanks Bam

Yes mate.....very lucky.....and I don't take anything for granted.
The fields have been planted....when the shoots start poking through it will be busy there for sure.
Bit of a bummer they have ploughed right up to the margins :rofl:
Spring and Summer it will be a joy to shoot there......lovely setting.

We get some cracking sunrises and sunsets up the river

Forgot to mention.....in the first picture (top left).....if you look closely you will see the Deer running across the field.......middle of picture.....hedge behind :)
