Using a CZ 452 .22 LR, Parker-Hale moderator and CCI sub sonic hollow points (my go to hunting ammunition) I decided to check out the graduations on my 3-9x50 Hawke scope that has a sub sonic reticle matched to Hornady sub sonics. The scope is mounted for close range shooting and the objective lens is as close to the barrel as can be without actually being in contact and set at 7x magnification.
To test this I measured a precise range at 50 yards, 75 yards and 100 yards. Unfortunately this being Wales the land that I shot over has a slight downward (5%) 1:20 gradient.
After firing 10 rounds at each distance at a hand drawn one inch (ish) target. This is what I ended up with. I was surprised at how consistent the scope's POA was with the POI
